Resolved Question: Why is Galveston, Indiana not pronounced the same as Galveston, Texas?

I live in Kokomo, Indiana, and there is a nearby city named Galveston, spelled the same as in Texas. However, ours is pronounced "gal-VES-ton", while the big city in Texas is "GAL-ves-ton". Why the difference if they're spelled the same?... Read More »
